Google Pagerank deprecated?

So, google hasnt updated Pagerank for quite a while now, to be honest its the longest i have ever seen.

After their hints that PR was not that important and removing it from the google bar and webmaster tools, anyone else thinks it has been deprecated and will no longer be updated?

That could do some damage in so many people business's...

we're still using PR as an indication of the site's authority when looking where to build your web 2 properties, post your comments, create profiles, etc.

people are continue using PR when buying/selling sites or links.

I think, if no PR sooner or later there will be new commonly acceptable indicator of site's authority - SEOMoz, SEMRush, etc.
