Google not linking article pages only homepage

Google linking homepage and not article/blogpost page

I appear as second link for keyword, but instead of links being for article page (ex. Seikoturtle.com/needreddithelpplease), it is link for my domain only ex (seikoturtle.com)

Any thoughts on why this could be?

My homepage has excerpts of articles and I am using Wordpress.

Welcome to the club

Many people have this problem, including me, it's a total mess/Google right now.

When I google mine, my Contact page shows up and not my homepage. And that page is pretty barren. Glad to know I’m not the only one. Looks like I have some work to do too @MrDenz

In the last few days Google keeps on changing the serp.

If you are wondering why your blog post is not getting linked, there is no need to panic. There are a few reasons why this discrepancy is taking. One of the many reasons can be that; Google can't see every post the moment it gets online; hence, it is better to be patient and wait for some time. Other than that, you can follow 3 steps to implement a quick crawl. The steps are as follows -

• Go to Google Search Console
• Enter the URL of your post
• On the page, click on "request indexing."
