Google Not Indexing

I'm a bit confused and frustrated... I have a site I've been SEO-ing for a week, and I'm nowhere to be found on Google. If I do site:<url>, it DOES show up, but that's the only way I can find it in Google.

Keep in mind this domain has had nothing BH at all pointed at it (Well okay...maybe a few manually added comments to some blogs, but nothing that would raise an alarm from Google), and it has 100% unique content (no spinning).

I've done the following:

• On page SEO with SEO Ultimate WP plugin + SEO check.
• Created a sitemap and submitted it to Google Webmaster Tools.
• Pinged the site.
• Manually added it using Google's "add a site to crawl" page.

This is in a pretty competitive niche, so I don't expect to be high on the SERPs yet, but the domain in question is the exact keyword I'm trying to SEO for. I don't show up even within the first 40 pages of Google (I manually checked those 40 pages...ugh.)
I just submitted a request for reconsideration through Google just to make sure a previous owner of the domain didn't get it blacklisted.

Any suggestions, anybody in the same situation?

You're probably in a competitive niche. You need to link wheel and do more SEO work. Add some black hat tools if you want to rank.

Do a test. Try ranking for a 0 competitive keyword with a little traffic. You should easily rank on page 1.

It is for sure a competitive niche, but I'd expect that for the keyword I'm using I'd be somewhere in the top 10 - 15 search results. I'm nowhere to be found.
Sounds like back to SEO work for me!

keep at it and stop checking the serps manually. use rankchecker or something.

I had the same problem. Know what i did?
I backlinks 2000 websites with Scrapebox (you can pay someone to do that maybe fiverr). And the next day my website was indexed.

Strange...If I search with my phone, I'm on Page #2...With a PC, i'm nowhere to be found.

Same problem with my site for the last 2 days. Sometimes he is there on #12 for my main KW and sometimes it isnt. When it isnt there, I just check with an US proxy or iphone and the site shows up like magic. (site were indexed 3 days ago and I have not even start to build links yet)

I just searched for it on my PC and it is at position #19 now... Google is weird! At least it is on the pages now...We'll see how long it'll last.

make some backlinks like blog commenting,forum profiles,article directories and then bookmark one of that type of backlink with bookmarking tool like BMD or BMWiz. you will see your backlink will be indexed fast. and you will get higher ranking in search engine

Yep definitely Google Dance, you'll find a lot that when you suddenly blast more links than usual that you might even disappear altogether for a while, then come back stronger usually.
