hi guys my site is more thn 8 months old its a warez site and has less thn 2000 pages indexed on google

and there is a new warez site which is like 2-3 months old and has 4000 pages indexed with google i have submitted sitemap to google .....
i talked to owner of the site who has 4000 pages indexed he said that do you ping google? i said what! so tell what does he meant as i am noob in SEO
what are the other things i need to keep in mind to more pages indexed with google because if i manage to get about 1,00,000 pages on google i think the traffic to my site will increase a lot...
