@wulf2ram - I guess me and all the other members that have pointed out that identi changed to no follow are just imagining the no follow tags we're seeing when we look at the source.
There still are some places on identi in which you can get links without a no follow, but because of where they did change to no follow it makes the method no better than posting a link on any other pr0 page.
You are right that you can post a message on identi with a link and it won't get a no follow. Yes, it will show up on the high pr main page -but by the time you send the ping and the crawler checks the site the link is already scrolled off the first page so it isn't really helpful.
The link in your message will also show on your personal page, if you have many subscriptions it will also scroll off the page before it gets crawled.
Put the link as your homepage in your profile and it isn't no follow, so it will be found when the page is crawled, but it isn't any better than posting on any other pr0 blog.
What made using identi such a great method before was that you could use it to push some higher pr to your link. Since the subscriptions, subscribers, and groups are no follow now, your profile page will just remain a pr0 page, so it no longer works at all for increasing your sites pr.
So you're right that you do get a backlink, just not a very powerful one. It will help you get a site indexed, just not any more so than any other backlink you get.
The methods suggested in any of the other threads you can find on bhw about how to get indexed fast, will get much better results for getting indexed than using the identi method.

You can also find many other threads in the last month of people complaining about the spammers ruining the identi method and complaining about the identi method not working any more.
