Hi Guys

I am little worried about Google's 21-Apr update for mobile responsive as its not responsive and very difficult to make it as it has many programming codes.

But i am more curious to know that will google reduce their ranking of "Google Analytics/Webmaster" also as it is not mobile responsive too??

Oh My God :D

First time in BHW, I read a question what forced me to laugh like anything. :D:D By the way, ask the same in Google Analytics community :P

Dont worry about all that, just make sure your site is mobile friendly.

whats so funny about it? did you get the question? :p

I know its important for us to make it responsive but i am curious why they are forcing others when they can't make their own website responsive with so many developers.

If they will reduce ranking of other website because of the responsive issue then they should reduce ranking for their analytics/webmaster too.

Entire internet world is looking forward for April21 update. Make sure your site is responsive. This update is mainly for the businesses that have high mobile users. And remember since smart phone users are growing, this update is now necessary for all the online business. Just five days to go and sure we will see some changes in mobile search rankings.

Yeah i am also waiting for the google update result mate.

One of my old websites was hit by this update. Changing design solved the problem and I did not lose traffic at all.

The update i think will just affect mobile traffic specifically. If your a heavy mobile traffic website and your not responsive, youll most prob get deranked just on mobile

But Google Responsive update is not released yet??

This is a yes or no update. You either fully qualify as mobile or not. Penalty or no penalty. Odds are if you aren't SURE qualify then you probably aren't. And from my understanding it judges rankings across all platforms based on this yes/no.

That's the way I understand it also. For desktop search/visit, there shouldn't be any changes to rankings. I could be totally wrong, but I guess we'll find out starting next week.
Either way, I think it makes good sense to head towards a responsive layout if you haven't already.

The real question is will there be a massive shuffle on april 21, or will this slowly be implemented into their algos

For most IM people whose sites are keyword and content based, not layout or code based, the change should not be an issue unless the site is highly customized. The whole point behind most of us using WP (or even Blogger templates) was to not hassle over web design, because the CMS gives you the flexibility to do a wholesale adjustment without impacting the content. Just do a web search for "best free responsive themes" or templates, and switch to the responsive layout of your choice, and you should not suffer from the change.

Apparently mobile/desktop will have a further split in serp differences. That's what I heard. Not going to lose desktop.

Will the mobile update also factor in page size or just if it is or isn't a mobile layout?
