Bit of a tinfoil hat theory here but stick with me...

Been noticing some movement around exact match anchors vs partial anchors. Pages that had a sharp increase in exact match suddenly dipped.

Flipped the anchors to branded or naked → rankings bounced back.

I reckon Google’s testing sensitivity on anchor diversity windows like, how fast you change anchor ratios triggers a check.

Anyone tracking anchor patterns closely? Any wild theories of your own?

Let’s cook up some SEO conspiracies together.

Google is always looking for anchor text profiles since their beginning, it's one of their core metric for recognising natural links.
Google has many public patents that confirms this as a part of their algorithm.

Yes if it changes at a fast rate, obviously it doesn't look natural to them. However I wouldn't say that the timing and text variations are the only factors, however just like before the link neighbourhood and linking page quality pays a major role as well.

You might be onto something here. I’ve noticed the same thing with exact match anchors , too much too fast, and it feels like Ggnotices. I’ve also been experimenting with more branded and naked anchors, and the results seem more stable. It’s almost like Gg is testing a threshold for anchor diversity to catch any unnatural patterns. Who knows, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they are constantly tweaking things in the background
