Google Merchant Centre (GMC) approval seems impossible right now

Hey, just wondering what other people's experience is in getting GMCs approved in the last month or so?

It appears impossible to get one approved in USA, UK or Australia. I was able to get them approved no issue previously, but since a month or so ago something has changed and it appears impossible. I have tried different policies, products are compliant, business contact details are in the footer and across the policies, basically everything is, as far as I can tell, compliant but still I can't get any approved.

I spoke to a few other people and they are in the same scenario. Does anyone have any insight or feedback?

Are you sure your business is not BH? You're not into replica, right? You said everything is compliant.

What is your setup? And have you ever had any other accounts restricted/banned?

Business isn't BH or replica products. It doesn't matter if it is a fashion, home decor or lights niche it still seems impossible to get approved. I am using shopify, new unique gmail, proxy, no business details duplicated on any other sites.
 
The common reason for non approval maybe misrepresentation. Even small discrepancies between your website, business details can trigger this
Also Confirm that GTINs and MPNs are correct
 
There’s always some kind of trick involved in getting approved on GMC, but having an accurate website isn’t enough you also need to have real company documents and proper legal representative paperwork.
 
To elaborate on this.

- I have made sure there are adequate backlinks to the domain.
- I have citations using the NAP which matches the contact details in the footer, across the policy pages and in the GMC
- All policies are compliant. I've tried previous policies that worked and also used chatgpt to make 100% compliant policies
- The products are compliant, they don't have any words or phrases used which are not compliant
- I used an aged gmail to sign up for the GMC
- I've tried domains that are new, or are aged
- The theme is unique and not exported from another site
- The email is verified and works
- The phone number is verified and works
- The address and contact details are for the local market. i.e. if I am targeting the UK then the address and phone number are in the uk, same with USA
- The social media account is linked in the footer to add to trust signals that it is a legitimate business

What else is there? I am not the only one having this issue. I've spoken to multiple people who are trying to get GMCs approved and since the last 2 months it has been virtually impossible.
 
Yeah, lately it’s been way harder—seems like Google tightened reviews, even fully compliant stores are getting flagged without clear reason.
 
GMC approvals in the US, UK, and Australia have become much harder since June 2025. You can try use aged domains, ensure business info matches across all pages, avoid generic templates, and consider applying from less saturated regions (e.g. Canada, Singapore)
 
Google’s super strict on GMC lately. Even clean accounts get denied. Focus on perfect feed, legit site verification, and clear contact info. Other than that, just grind with retries, no quick hacks here.
 
GMC approvals are brutal right now, especially US/UK/Aus. Even solid setups get denied—Google’s just tighter on feed/site matching and policies. Keep tweaking your data and policies, but don’t expect quick wins.
 
Yes it has been tough but not imposible. Has anyone had anyluck adding hemp products?

even if it is actually white hat, it may be considered as BH by Google as theyre getting stricter when it comes to that sort of stuff. So thats why sometimes cloaking is sometimes used even for white hat niches that are not really considered as wh anymore by most ad networks.
 
Over a month on and it is still the same - near impossible to get approved. Sometimes you will get through and then start to run ads and get taken down again.

It doesn't matter what policies you use or any of the other things you implement (skus, ai images, etc), it seems very random if you get approved.

There has to be some way to get through it.

Yeah exactly the same issues for me aswell, have no clue on what details im missing
 
Can't seem to resolve this misrepresentation flag on one of my stores.
 
Yeah, it’s been harder lately—Google’s tightening up, so make sure everything’s perfect with your feed and policies. Maybe try contacting support for more details.
