Just got wind that The BIG G, is currently creating a social network platform to rival facebook. Should be interesting. I can see it already, Adsense ads on your profile page etc. Wonder which network will have lower advertising cost's? Who's going to create the first bot for this brand spankin new network? Just imagine all the wonderful link juice this social network will have.

Well The Big G definately has the capital to create a rival platform or even possibly purchase facebook, buit I doubt Zuck will sell it anytime soon. Move over facebook, there's a general moving in on the block and he has twice as much analytical data as you.

well okrut took off in places like brazil. I don't know if there is a way google can actually beat facebook at it's own game, even if they make a better system. To me, it's more about whether facebook fucks up and people start leaving it. But regardless, isn't there some sort of first mover advantage to get established on there with accounts from the beginning?

G! tried the social network thing twice, and so far they've been mediocre outings, idk though. They usually have a few lame duck attempts, then the game changer. Lets see how it goes.

It does appear that this battle is raging. Apparently, facebook has entered a "lockdown" to update their site, and I have noticed some minor changes to fb lately...

I don't think Google can tackle FB that easily. Their 2009 hype Google Wave has been officially dead.
