Just read today that last month google announced they have started the "Google Map Maker project" in the US. This services gives people the ability to add business, street, routes, parks, and other items to google maps. Once the addition is reviewed it will be place on the global google map. Do you think if you have a website site up, with an address (no an actual building just an address in the middle of the street), a website, and tons of directories behind that business that google will accept the addition?

I have added a business to the Map Maker program. The business I added ranks very well when you search for the service and the area. There are TONS of directories built behind it all with the same information. I guess we will see what happens.

Any thoughts on this subject?

Looks like you're going to be our guinea pig :D

Hopefully this works out for you. I've haven't tried it yet so I'm looking forward to your responses on this thread :)

Like most of Google "big Ideas" Google map maker is only designed to be used by it's creator LOL. Looks like you can add you businesses and then increase your place in the approval line by approving/reviewing other businesses. Works like Wikipedia where other people add to and edit the info you have added. I could see this working very well for BH If some people got together and approved each others info. I will keep you updated on whether my listing(s) get approved or not :)

Update:
I posted 2 different business with different locations and used different accounts to create them. After I added the business I went back and reviewed them with 2 different accounts and said that the info was correct. As of right now one has been taken down already (reason was not a real location) but the other is still listed and is showing on the global google map. You can even pull the embed code and display the map with the business info on your website.

Anyone else have any ideas or thoughts on this?

Any breakthrough with Mapmaker? Has anybody managed to get their listings "published" on a regulaer basis?

I would love to be able to outsource Mapmaker published listings...

Google's map maker is so totally heard of these days. Almost every site that has a physical address is bound to have a map somewhere so I think if you were to capture the market now would be a good place to start. Anything more to add anyone?

I'm a Google Map Maker, you can ask me anything about Google Maps, if you are having any problem.
