Google in increasing satisfaction with the user experience uses how fast your site loads to determine rankings.

Weird, my HTML site loads much faster than my wordpress site... both in same hosting company + in same city.
Should try some of those super cache things to make things much faster :)
 
They may be increasing its importance... but they've been slightly rewarding fast load times for awhile now. Thanks! Will read.

Just a little story. I've been using yslow to profile my wp sites and also drupal and joomla. It's kinda cool, give it a shot if you don't know it.

When some time (couple years?) ago they announced speed was gonna be an important factor to take into account I decided to create a faster custom CMS platform, easier to deploy and with just the features I use the most: a good autoblogging mechanism, a seopressor clone, good stats, built-in cpa-r faking/blanking capability. Ripping and adapting a theme is trivial and I ditched mysql altogether for sqlite, so no need for a proper sql server anymore.

My sites are faster than ever, google can't really complain about that any longer, that's for sure. They could complain about a lot of other things though... ;)

I was so busy with other things I forgot to tweak to make my sites faster recently! Lol thanks for the oh so friendly and planned reminder ;)
 
true Google loves speed but it also likes fresh content by more than one author
 
Too bad that google determines site speed via google chrome users. So if your visitors have crap connection computer etc your speed decreases.

I am aware of a bunch of other things google likes...
but this article helps get more speed out of your site.
It gives you access to a Content Distribution Network for free.

That is why I posted it...
It takes like 30 minutes to do what is in the articles and your site speed will be improved.

now tell me... how many authors and original content can you get in 30 minutes.....
 
Quick update.

Make sure you put in your subdomains too.
If not the subdomains will eventually stop working.
