Google Local Search Results

So I was looking at the Google local listings for a keyword in an area to me, and one of the businesses that is listed 2nd in the local results just has their address as "town." For Google local I thought you have to put a physical street address, not just the town? Don't you have to list the address where they send the post card to?

They may have covered other areas like citations well.

It could be an old listing? I think they changed the required info fairly recently.

You can show up on local listing by just displaying the town. All you have to do, is under the address section in Google Business check the part that says " I deliver goods and services to my customers at their location" and put within how many miles of your business you serve. This will only display the town you entered and not the full address. This is only, if you don't server people at the full address you entered, obviously (Contractors, Freelancers, etc...).

If you're business is a brick and mortar then you obviously serve people at the address. You will need to check off the "I also serve customers at my business address". This option will display your full address on local listings, as you want people to go personally.

IF you have someone to answer phone calls and have someone to attend to your clients that walk in, then the " I also server customers at my business address" option should be checked off. IF you do not, then most likely , you serve clients at their location within a certain radius of your business address.

Since you have no one to attend to clients personally, Google gives that option of not showing the full address and instead just shows the town.
