Google link operator

Is it just me or is Google's backlink checker "link" operator eg search for "link:example.com" not working? or severely cutting back on how many links they used to show? I have sites that used to show hundreds of links in google a few days ago, and now they are showing none, or very few. this is happening for my sites, and many other peoples.

everyone elses sites seem to be working ok??
