Google link credits

have been slow building link for my site for the past 2 weeks
google search shows 200 odds links from other site to mine

...but link:mysite.com query only credit me with one freaking link

why is that?

I believe it is the link:yoursite.com data google actually use for ranking

why have google disregardED all other links out there and only credit me with one?

Just dont use google for checking your backlinks. If google doesnt show them it doesnt mean google dont count them.

IN yahoo.com use linkdomain:yourwebsite.com to get more results. You could also use google webmaster tools to get some more results although this isnt updated very accurate aswell.
