Perhaps, but I think this is another step in G's plan to basically control search with their own content or with sites they deem as authorities.

It certainly means fewer clicks will make it to websites. They were probably unqualified clicks anyways though. Maybe bounce rate might go down now? /shrug.

I personally like it.

For my exact situation it will cut down on "junk" visitors - giving them what they actually want on the search page, rather than clicking to my site and maybe not finding the answer, then sending an email to ask us a general question. (I get so much of this)

I can't see how it will negatively affect my "buying" targeted keywords.

I think we should start a pool to see how long this garbage will last. This was in reaction to Bing's social search. What google fails to realize is we don't want more out of search than what we are getting now, a place to make money, reasonable search results, and less of their garbage. I really long for the day they cut their own throat and we can have discussions on how to game the next big search engine...

I know what I will be watching for Open Graph and those that don't see the huge potential for creating a nicer world of your making might wanna look over it again. I could certainly be wrong but I don't think this is quite an egg like people are thinking. Opt out option? I don't think so. I wrote a blog list about this today, it was like all anyone was talking about so I am setting some goals for me and things to watch. I think ya can skip to the New Technology, New Segments part and skip intro.

Yeah and I remember them saying Wave would change email as we know it. I don't want a bunch of garbage in search results. Simple pages. Let me decide what I want to look at. I don't need Google to do the thinking for me. They have proved time and time again how stupid they are... what, you think they will get this right?

Given their track record I SERIOUSLY doubt it.

Just look at how bad they screwed up search results with Penguin... and you think they are going to pull AI off??? LOL, Yeah right.
