That's precisely it! :( And that only shows that what ardley216 said, is obviously true, that they're objective is targeting adwords users, while fucking people who used keyword tool for SEO! That's the way Go0gle's doing things right now, and we have to get used to it. But it sucks!:damnit:
 
There is not any other comparable tool for knowing competitors keywords other than Google keyword planner. However SEMrush also doing good job for this regard. It is also telling the competitors keywords with traffic.
 
I checked many keywords in planner, what I got from keyword tools around 20 days ago. Now I see, planner is showing almost double visitors number for each keywords. Are they providing wrong information for the attraction of advertisers?
 
Exact, board and phrase option is not to get exact or broad number of visitors. But if you change exact to broad or phrase and vice verse, then cpc changes. I think this planner is made for the advertiser not for the seo keyword researcher.
 
I don't know why you all are complaining. Sure it's inconvenient, but you are supposed to be IMers, figure it out! The Keyword Planner does the same thing as the keyword tool, you just have to navigate a bit differently. It's not rocket science.

I noticed an increase of exact searches per month as well. I think they've updated their stats to show the latest figures, but id take those new figures with a pinch of salt and knock a quarter off ant results they're giving us for a more accurate and realistic number imo..
 
Google is like the local grocery store.. just when you know where the lemons are they switch them with some party supplies and Google is always trying to make a LEMON PARTY with their idiotic changes.

Can you still download keyword files to CSV or other formats? Or the tool can be used only for Google's ads?
 
Most accounts have been migrated to Keyword Planner. Mine was just migrated yesterday, but I know of others who were migrated a month ago.
 
I hate it.

On a side note, I "was" about to place an adwords ad for high volume keywords that did NOT have 1 single ad. The cpc should have been next to nothing. Boy was I wrong, Google wanted $5 per click just to activate the ad. $5 per click and there's no other ads? That's insane.
 
Yeah, looks as if the G is in self-destruct mode. Same shit the old Yahoo Ads did before they tanked due to multiple law suites. Started trying to suck there advertisers dry with a few clicks. --IDIOTS--
