I see some people on Flippa selling sites and saying...."according to the keywords tool, these keywords get 120,000 monthly global visits.

Then I go to the old keyword tool and change the drop-down to "exact" and the count drops to 880 per month!!!

Which is correct? What do you guys go by?

Thanks.....Mike

Im sure those keywords DO get 120,000 searches per month...on broad match...

exact match, imo, is a better way to gauge how much traffic you'll get if someone types in that exact keyword phrase

Go for local, not for global. Local is country + language specific.
I doubt it you'll rule the entire world for that keyword.
And filter for exact to get a more realistic result.

That's what I always thought too. But I was told that global is better to base your decision on because it's an average of the last 12 months, whereas the local is just amount of searches in your country last month.
This comment was coming from an adsense guy(recommended 5k+ Global), which I dont know much about, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Your thoughts?..
