Google is totally weird or it's just me?!?

Again strange things happening here:

- Firefox, IE and Chrome, each one got distinct results on SERP's;
- Suddenly some already indexed pages of my site disapeared from google cache, and I'm nothing doing anything on these pages;
- Ranking #1 on my www.domainname.com for like 3 months, and today dropped to #3 without doing anything in about 3 months directly to the main page; The main page never had any blackhat backlink, only good and hard work to get on #1...

Am I going crazy, google is crazy or maybe I'm a victim of someone trying to blast shit on me and my sites are dancing?!?

PS. I never blast nothing directly to my site. Only having 2/3 good do fo llow backlinks from authority sites, and having some buffer sites pointing to my site (these I blast with profiles only). Nothing on webmaster tools telling me anything wrong. My work is almost white hat. I even got a backlink from dmoz.org.

I'm seeing a lot of SERP changes. A lot of authority sites where I never controlled, never blasted, never did any shit, and manual and in a clever way got a backlink from, disappeared from results (maybe this is the problem with ranking lower). Maybe the recent PR update changed things again?

In some cases I cant understand, cause shit pages with no backlinks are ranking higher in positions.

Weird, confused and I'm worried about this. Need to get back my rankings as fast as possible.

This can happen often particularly with new sites. Give it a few days. The best corrective measure when you go overboard on link building is to hit your site with a reasonable amount of other types of links.

If $hit pages are ranking add the meta noindex attribute and ping them or use the robots.txt protocol to exclude them

I'm neurotic. I'm SEOmoz member and got the ranking reporting from there, but every day and every hour I'm checking my rankings in every browser.

The site isn't new. It's a 5+ years old domain from a company. Updated from 0PR to 2PR in this recent update.

I'm talking from brazil. .br here. Maybe panda hit here these days only?!?

There's really now sense in checking that frequently. I like checking often but, I would avoid checking to much. Raises attention around your keywords.

SEO is confusing indeed, sometimes what works for site A doesnt work for site B.

You can use market samurai to track SERPs as well as SEOSERP.com (manually). They are the most accurate i guess

Okey, let's start to build backlinks again to my main keyword... manually and on the "new authority sites" that just appeared in the SERPs...

I agree on a strange Google behavior. 7 of our sites went down on June 16 but in a few days PR increased on all from 0 to 2. Now all pages are PR 2 also - with 0% on page and 100% on page SEO. Rankings are still down How come?

I really checked the entire SERPs to see the authorities where I had backlinks before. Noticed that some backlinks I got from foruns got this situation:

- Foruns aren't optimized for SEO and have thousands of topics who may have the same keywords you're targeting;

So what happened:

- The topics where I have a backlink are substituted by another topic from the forum with the same keyword/niche; So I guess that the domain/forum still have the juice I want, but now I'll have to reply this topic again in a clever way to get my backlink sticked;

Or in a bh way: make a list of my entire backlinks and blast it to get they sticked forever, even if they lose ranks they'll never be substituted by a topic/page that is not target.

Another thing it could be:

Client side connection speed also changes what results are displayed... what it boils down to is that you face the most competition on the fastest client-side internet connections. It is also the reason why you want fast page load times for your website so you don't fall out of the results for slower client-side connections. All my sites fricken rock in the SERPs from the ferry! (Which is what started me down this path for some recent experimentation) If your broadband is saturated and worsens during prime time hours then it will be a crap shoot every time you check... in that case wait for off-peak hours or go somewhere with better connectivity.


Addition:

Also... stop your bittorrent downloads before checking your rankings! Or if your site is super fast then fire them up and tune the settings if you want to try to spoof a better placement than you actually have from a computer, but that would be dishonest. Its a clever trade show trick if they need to bump themselves over a competitor for demonstrations, so don't be fooled.

Another Addition:

I think a part of the browser flavor result variations are due to the influence each one has on the client-side page load times as perceived by Google. DOM parsing, rendering engine, javascript execution, batching parallel downloads, etc. all play a part in Google's ability estimate client-side connection speed.

Update: my buffer/support sites have lost heavy ranking. I used to push my buffer sites with profiles backlinks.

I guess profile backlinks = temporary ranking and then you'll be dropped again. Temp solution only.

More time pass by and more I have this insight: automated work = temporary and you'll be doomed to day-by-day run automated stuff again. More wisdom go to write 20 good optimized articles (not even think about spinning) and publish mannualy on 2.0 sites. Don't you think?

Same thing happen with me, I have PR 2 and I was #3 for 2 years. My site suddenly drop ranking, now I am not in top 1000.

Sorry to hear your site has lost some rankings, but looks like you've nailed the cause. As it wasn't penalized it is clearly indirect. It's simply a loss of 'link juice' because Google decided that the link building on your buffer sites were not 'real' and discount any value given from them.

Also, with personalization in results, Google can show slightly different results to different people, in different places, who have different browsing histories. If you want to stop that, turn off you 'Web History' on Google across all browsers. You should then see result pages with greater similarity.
