If you want to monitor it, visit google.de and keep reloading blackhat-market terms. You'll see ~6+ variations being tested right now. One on DC, an "immortal" site was completely dropped. So far I've seen 6+ variations, entirely different.
They tested Penguin in Austria earlier in the year, and I saw the same thing that's happening now right in Germany. Usually they do these split tests before rolling out the algorithm, to collect data and see which "form" converts the best (i.e. how powerful they turn the lever, etc).
