I think ~ 40% of Amazon traffic comes from Google, that's why I would still bet on Google. As long as Android is selling, Google is untouchable.

Big companies tend to be inefficient. If they (as a company) took a lousy measure then, nobody is fired, the technical team is reallocated and the management lose their bonus but nothing more.

Very true. I'm sure normally this would 100% be the case. I think it will be a little different with the data leak though. I'm sure someone/multiple someones will be let go because of this.

I am honestly quite disappointed that Google+ never really made it. I legitimately liked the platform.

It was a disaster from the start. At one point, they even started showing linked google+ profile pic besides sites on search.
