Google is randomly dropping my posts from index.

My site is 4 months old and it has about 400 posts. It is in the software downloads niche. My new posts are indexing fine but the old ones are dropping off the index randomly. I agree that earlier I used to have thin content but I updated them all with about 700-800 words unique content but still they are dropping. My competitors are having copied content and ranking just fine. What should I do? Should I try paid indexing services?

It could be down to the current Google update maybe or another possible reasons could be your click-through rate or stay time is getting worse or your competitors better at something than you.

It has been happening from May so I don't think it is due to current google updates.

Ctr is fine in my opinion.

Dwell time is around 1 min.which I think is the industry average since nobody wants to read the content. People only want that download link. Other than that my competitors have backlinks since they are at least 2 - 3 years old.
 
You are right your click-through is decent so I guess your onpage must be amazing or at least okay.

If that's the case about since May I would recommend instead pay someone to perform an audit on your website then get whatever your issue is sorted

Sounds good go with someone like the Tiktok Champ Craig Campbell.
 
I am really surprised you don't know him. He's one of the biggest SEO fame wise in the world he does speeches all the time or have a very big Youtube channel. He does Tiktok stuff as kind of like a sideline gig or for fun I was his promotion manager in the past for him as like a fun or funny side line job before.
