I have read somewhere that Google is going to give more preference to the mobile friendly sites. According to Google this result will be seen after 21st April.

You can check your website with Google Webmaster Tool and if your site is not mobile friendly then make it so !!

Most people's sites are mobile friendly already (just by using Wordpress, most of the time) so I don't think this will make that much of a difference.

google still using desktop ranking method for Mobile ... but it in future mobile friendly site will be need if you want to make your visitor stay for long time on your website then you must need it.

Yes there may be possibilities, as this is the smartphone era. Will get prepared myself for that. Thanks for sharing.

Just wondering, where are you seeing that it will only start counting after April 21?

I guess according to availability of mobile site version It will be important only for mobile SERP, not for desktop.

I think google took this factor into account a long time ago.. They just announced it now.

I have one cleint who did not upgrade to mobile friendy.
So far it has not affected his rankings.
However we will wait and see

Yeah i think its rolling out now :P and some sites are showing results in #

But this is an old update now? They said it would take only 2 weeks to fully roll out IIRC, and we're almost at week 3 now. I did see more traffic than usual yesterday but I was thinking it's because Panda is about to rape me.

Mobile friendly was in the pipeline for awhile now. Mobile sites have been increasingly important over the last few years. Regardless of search rankings, having your site optimized is important. Why turn away customers who are accessing your site from a smartphone?
