Google is going bankrupt [LOL good riddance]

It's hard for them to go bankrupt, especially when Google has a monopoly on most services

When you start pulling out of markets as well as regulating more the type of content that can be monetized your monopoly starts to become less strong. There's also the issue of being based so much in an expensive area like California, which drives up the operating cost.

The 931 mil operating loss is just for the cloud business. Overall, they made a net profit of 16 billion. Cloud is high margin so it's a competitive business. Everything except the cloud business turned a profit. Growth did slow down though.

Stocks are overreacting to everything because they are in a bubble. A lot of stocks that made small misses got hammered. It's insane.

Making a loss in one company that is part of a group of companies does not mean the group is not profitable for the said period like what the OP is making us understand.

Amazon killed Google as no one on ecommerce is selling outside amazon. The death of SEO God is here.

Whoever thinks anything bad's going to happen to Google is way too naive. It will all blow over.

Google can only go bankrupt if the entire tech behind search engines and video streaming undergoes a sudden revolution. It is unpredictable so we will never know why and how it happens. All these small losses and gains won't make a difference.

Sorry but that is not going to happen very soon.
Google is losing money like every other company and probably less.
Intrest is going up, stocks are going down.

Huuuge companies with bad business practices fail more often than you think.
and more often than not they get bailed out by the governments.
but it won't ever reach that stage (unless something ridiculous happens). stuff may not be going great for alphabet right now, but it cant always go well, the world doesn't work like that. Google is the one thing I cant see going down no matter what. maybe i just don't have enough imagination.

Remember the tech giants of yesteryear? IBM, Xerox, Digital Research, etc.

Google is going down fast. The damage they did on the WWW, scraping everyone's contents and placing ads everywhere is finally catching up with them.

$931 million operating loss

Profits down 8%

Shares already down 17% in 2022 and more rout to come (today will be fun to watch, as results posted after market)

Web3.0 is next and Google ain't a part of it. Good riddance.

That would be some GREAT KARMA but i doubt a big company like google will crash and burn.

Altavista was backed by DEC. I watched them crash and burn live from Netscape Navigator Gold.

It is so funny and actually weird that people nowadays believe that the P&L of such big companies are actually legit !!!
Such big companies smartly know how to pay the least taxes by "playing" with their P&L and balance sheets.
Oh !!! "But, see their shares are also down ..." .... (LOL !!!) : They know their game pretty well : they can zoom up their share prices with a click of a finger !!!
So, funny and weird that people have still not realized how the big boys of big businesses play their games. Anyways, each one to their own. Some people will always remain ignorant of the realities of today's business world, inspite of so much of knowledge around.

Are you seriously going to bitch about the one company that has really made seo possible…, and on an seo forum too? I mean you can argue that their cleverness allowed them a monopoly on the market, but not sure why that’s a bad thing (unless you work for bing or yahoo).
What would having 10 companies with 10 different seo parameters do, except make seo 10 times more difficult and potentially 10 times less profitable?

There are no alternatives to Google at the moment.
This. I use DDG for most of my searches but as soon as I need to look up anything non-technical I have to do it in google. And for shopping/consumerist queries it's always google.

I think it's possible google will earn less and less now, but it's still a long way to even let's say the point where they would consent to be acquired by another company.
