Hey guys.

I'm following very closely a competitor strategy. He uses a lot of hidden links in high authorithy domais.
Every month he gets over 10/15 links from this dodgy pages!

He's ranking in top positions in a very competitive market.

is it worth doing this? I though google was smarter... this is working since december. i'm a bit
incredulous how this is possible.upload_2020-5-1_0-40-23.png

Consider that those link doesn't forcefully have to be major ranking factors to the site. Although unless it already has a huge authority (lets say in common measurement ratings 60DR+) it may end with a penalty at some point. But contrarily to your thoughts, the fun part from Google, is that it has grown in the past year and a half "smarter" in terms of disregarding this type of links instead of penalizing (because of negative SEO practices)

I'm totally sure that he's ranking in that position because of the hidden links. The UX is a shit and whole site has nothing special inside.
On ahrefs his site has 71DR now... crazy
He gets some links from some websites with 70 DR.... others between 30-60 DR
This month he had more than 30 links. I'm waiting for google "to act" since january and that strategy still working. And trust me, is a very competetive niche with CPC +10$ in some keywords.

glad to see others who can do a good job analyzing google's behavior over the last year or so.

@patranhadas - most likely google is not counting those links.

if they are hidden, how did you find it?

I found them trough ahrefs.
Then I "select all" content on page and I see a lot of hidden links

Impossible. That website has nothing special. No social signals, content, UX no nothing. I know those guys run a big SEO company in asia.
The only thing they do is links, links, links, links, links and a bit of keyword stuffing.
I track their website from the begining with ahrefs. And everytime he gets those links, booooom 1st and 2nd place.

a brilliant idea and worth giving it a try.

thanks bot

Pbns are always a great way to boost your site provided they’re quality ones

Yes, I dind't mean to sound suprised that PBN's work, it's just that these are so blatantly in violation of every sacred Google guideline that it's ridiculous how well this works in such a competitive business like the one he's in.So yes, pbns are always a great way to boost your site provided they’re quality ones, but this is absolutely not the case here.

Ask yourself how long is this really gonna be working for.

I did something similar in the past but Google always catches on.

Something like this. (did this example on PS, see images attached and find Ferrari Tires).
I will not publish the exact urls here

And it worked for how long? this strategy is working for more than 6 months....

OP clearly said that they are hidden. He added a black screen above the image for symbolic representation :D

Thanks man. Finally someone smart
