Hello guys,

I'm going to have to raise another Indexing problem, that I'm having.

So the situation is like this. My main domain is indexed. Basically it shows up in google. But the thing is that in webmaster tools it shows that 0 pages are indexed. And another thing is that only the main site is indexed, not the articles. I've had about 7 spiders, that has visited the site, my traffic plugins shows me that, but still no results.

Maybe someone can explain. Thanks.

Hey karlissens,

not so nervous here!
1. Webmaster tools usually has quite some delays (if it even displays the data big g has)
2. indexing can take quite some time if your domain is new and has little backlink power.
So, just add some content from time to time and take care of backlinks and you will see that everything will turn out to be just fine.

Give those spiders some time dude. 7 spider visits mean nothing. Also make sure that you have a sitemap / next and prev tags present so that crawlers can crawl your site effectively.

Well the domain is about half year old. The content was added recently about 2 weeks. But thanks about the info.

GWT is pretty buggy and inaccurate nowadays, have that in mind

I've actually seen the same thing with one of my clients a little while back. I initially got nervous but then the numbers corrected themselves after a few days. GWT can be buggy at times like innoozemec said. Give it a few days and see if the numbers come back up. Do a quick site:"yourdomain.com" search in Google and see how many pages are ACTUALLY appearing and indexed. That's a more accurate respresentation. Also make sure the your article section doesn't have a no index tag on it by mistake within the header.

Hope that helps.

Create an xml sitemap and then submit it to GWT's.

Good luck!

Thanks checked for the No index tab, nothing was found, so I guess I don't have it. Right now it has indexed the main page and some videos, that I used to get the site crawled, will see how it goes. THanks

As mentioned previously create a sitemap, there's tools that can do this automatically if pages are inter-linked. This seems to help the crawlers out with index speed.

You can tweet about specific url's that you are wanting indexed faster, and if you get that re-tweeted I've found it indexes in a very short period of time.

If the main domain is indexed you're fine. Just give it a little while longer for the articles - maybe ping them a few times to speed things up.

I can't understand why so many people are so stressed about indexing, unless it's an old domain.
If the domain is brand new just install yoast and post an article. google will crawl your site in some days (2-4).

People stress so much waiting for the index while they have no clue how to make money.
Indexing is the easiest thing, unless you got an old penalised site, you should start worrying more about what you are gonna do after you're indexed. peace

Because it is one of the main things.

But anyways I'm not stressed, I just wanted to figure out why is this happening.
For example, yesterday I launched brand new website, and today, all the pages are indexed. But for the previous site, only one has been indexed. That is why I'm asking. :)

Have you submitted a sitemap? Also run a "Fetch as Google" in GWT and submit the single page (not URL & all linking pages) to the index.

edit: ah just re-read. Submit a sitemap first & foremost.

i experiment with a new site. Submitted the sitemap.. keep adding 1-2 posts daily.. got to GWMT and resubmit sitemap after adding your posts.. my website got indexed about 30% within 3 days. As of today 6th day, i keep adding articles daily.. i got indexed about 90% now. no trick method. just new unique content added.

Hard to rank well with high reputated companies like wikepedia, wiki how...etc.

no way to fight with authority sites unless you are one itself.
