Google Index Fluctuation

Hey guys...

Got my website up on page 2 of g for over 50 million results. When i do the site:my site search, its fluctuating the pages being indexed. One minute there is 7 then 5 then 6 then 5 again....any ideas?

That's because this data from Google isn't very accurate. Don't be afraid about it, forget about it and focus on other things.

I am worried!!. I was concerned about it because im targetting specific keywords, each post is targetted towards a specific keyword, and if g is playing games with the indexing of the pages, then surely my site won't come up when that keyword is submitted into the search engine?.

Also, im using s.e.n.uk.e and only bookmarking 2 per day, then submitting the rss the following day and so on....yet with the seo toolbar im using, im showing none of the links as indexed, yet they are in there when i copy and paste from the url manager...

Its all very weird lol.

how old is the site? Usually, on my new sites, when they start jumping around and being inconsistent they come back higher than they were previously.

Site is less than 1 month old. Im still ranking for main keyword, but when i do the site:mysitedotcom check in google, thats whats showing the fluctuations

If you're not always checking the exact same data centre, you'll get varying results for both your rankings and the results of the site: command.

It takes a while for changes in the index to be rolled out across all the data centres; they're in a constant state of flux. You might not even get the same results checking that same data centre at different times of the day.

Just keep on building new pages / sites / backlinks and all will be well.
