Google Index? Changed domain a week ago..

Hi Guys

So I changed my website from being non-www to adding www. Google webmaster tools has not indexed any of the www. links on my website and the problem is that I have bought services that are building links with the www version..

Why is google taking soo long to do this? Anything I can do??

Any way to try this service? I just need to index maybe 10 links..
 
You want google to show "www.yourdomain.com" in search results or index your backlinks? If its the former one, the quickest way to do so is by adding your site to the GWMT(Google Webmaster Tools) and setting the preferred domain(www or non-www) under "site settings".

Hi there,

I did add it to GWMT for both the www and non www and also set the www as the prefered version. Did this about 4 days ago and have seen no change..

As per backlinks, they are not showing on ahrefs or majesti for the www version? I paid a lot for them.. I hope they are not going to waste. When I ordered the backlink service.. my domain did not have a www version.. after ordering I changed the domain to show the www.

This is what has got me puzzled.. what do you think?
 
Google's crawlers are much faster and bigger than the ahrefs bots so it'll take some time to show up in ahrefs index. Its nothing to worry about. Unless the new backlinks are on High PR page/PBN, it'll definitely take some time to reflect the changes on search results.

Have you tried searching with "site:www.yourdomainname.com" operator in Google?

Try adding a 301 redirect for non-www to www in .htaccess.

Yes I did do site:www.mydomain.com

I only see 1 random page there.. no home page or anything important. Oppose to site:mydomain.com where I see all the pages..

For the redirect.. since the website is word-press which automatically redirects.. do I still need to do this? Let me know!
 
No need to use .htaccess redirect if you're on Wordpress. Just bookmark your domain on some HighPR Social Bookmarking sites like Delicious,Stumbleupon,Technorati,Diigo,Digg,Scoopit,etc. There are a lot of services here in BHW Marketplace who does it for about $5.

Edit : Also, Purge the cache if you're using any cache plugins and from CDN(Cloudfront/Cloudflare) as well(if et all).

What does Purge from CDN mean and do? I use Wordpress Supercache, does this plugin do this?

If you're asking this, then most probably you're not using a CDN service like Cloudflare/Cloudfront/Akamai. Basically CDN services makes a copy of your page including scripts and images across several data centers in the world called as nodes. They'll serve the page from the nearest datacenter to your visitor which basically reduces the response time and also lessens the load on your hosting server.

Just empty the cache from Supercache menu. Thats enough for now.
