I have been building new links to my site. However, I have noticed the amount of pages google has indexed keep bouncing when I do a site:domain.com in google. It has been doing this for 3 weeks now, anyone ever have this happen before?

It happened to me also but ended up being the greater number. All the pages with good content ended up showing.

When you type this into Google, this does not show all indexed pages, this shows a selection.

You shouldn't use that to find your indexation of pages you should search the Google cache. You can use
    Code:
    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:urlyouwanttocheck.com/here/here

Only bad thing about that is you can only check 1 URL at a time, unless you have a tool that checks all your pages. :)

yea, that would take too long, makes me nervous every time I check though. It is an authority site so I am hoping it ends up at the top range like thinktank mentioned
