    Hi Guys,

I had a static html site on a 2 year old domain, I've since installed a blog on it but Google doesn't seem to be indexing the blog at all. All I am seeing in the search results are the old cached pages for the static site.

This domain was slapped in Google Adwords, does this affect it's organic status?

Can someone give me some hints as to what might be wrong?

    Cheers,

    T10

yes certainly ping it... make certain you have a good list of ping sites inside Wordpress (assuming you're using that). Consider also using the onlywire plugin to SB it. Then install the Google Sitemap plugin. That should help

Google has gotten accustomed to seeing no updates for a while, so it's not crawling your site as aggressively. Comment on a Digg article using the URL and it'll get found.

You can build backlinks in a high pr site. Try rss feed directory. If you submit your rss to many high quality directories, its a great way to be listed

Slapped by adwords is nothing to do with SEO ;) You have to build the authority to your domain by Quality Content & Backlinks. Video promoting is also good :)

Slapped by adwords is nothing to do with SEO. Make sure your pages are not restricted by robots.txt file..
If your site is restricted or wp blog is made private then your pages will not be crawled and you will be ignored Google..

on a 2 year old domain...

domain age is irrelevant... it is how long the site has been indexed for that adds google rep. A 2yo domain != 2yo website...

ping the hell out of it..

statblaster and verifiedfile.com/seo work for me. Whenever I make some new posts on my blog I use both of those and they get indexed within an hour.
