No need to really store any info...well I guess you could, but it's better to hit the keywords while they're hot.

For example, earlier in the day, there were 2 keywords that were hot. I grabbed those 2 keywords, threw up 2 blogs(1 per keyword), posted relevant content that I grabbed from other sites. I monetized the offer with TV on PC offers from CB.

After that, promoted with social bookmarking, video, rss feeds, and pinging.

Total time was a little over 30 mins.

Result was 4 sales for a little over $135.

The key is to go after something that you can monetize(which is anything if you're creative enough) and then hit it hard and fast. Who gives a shit if your bookmarking accounts get banned or your blog gets flagged later. This is a quick cash method, so you get much better results if you work fast.

"Ready, Fire, Aim" - This is the way to go for a method like this.

I'm curious how you get the websites indexed on google. I tried this a couple weeks ago for a few things like the tiger woods not making the british open cut and it never got indexed on google.

It shouldn't be too hard to get your blogs indexed in no time, especially if you're using a 2.0 property like Hubpages. Anytime I put some new up, I'll ping it, Digg it, Reddit it, ping both of those submits, and then run it through BMD. 90% of the time I notice that I'm indexed within 30 minutes or so.

I use Pingomatic for those ones, and then BMD pings all of the bookmarking it does.

It's not that hard. When you look at GTrends, and get your keywords there's a few things you need to do:

1. Check the competition of the keyword
2. Check to see what sites Google is showing in Trends and then take content from these sites and/or make your content similar.
3. Market hard.

If you check the download section you'll find a link to an *old* copy of BMD which seems work somewhat. It is nowhere as good as the newest version, and it is *definitely* worth the investment to purchase it.

I agree...go ahead and invest in the latest full version arthro, it will pay for iteslf in a short period of time.

sometimes he puts obscure shit in it and sure enough, it will show up on trends cause half the nerds in the world are googling it...

A question. Is it really worth getting on a short term trend (1-2 days) vs. medium to long term trends (e.g. diy energy). I would think your rewards are much higher (for the effort) for the longer term trends. What you think?

This is pretty much a quick cash method.

But with that said, it takes such little work, and you can get some good income coming in.

If you look below, you'll see my last go at this pulled in $135+ for about 30min work.

Cool. I guess there is a place for both.

@wdarpk: There is a WSO for a WP plugin called HOTFEED. It reads the Google Hot Trends feed, and then retrieves related news from Google News feed, Yahoo News feed, and YouTube videos. It then auto posts to your blog. Check it out.
I ran a test in combination with Twitter (sending blog posts as tweets to Twitter.) It took a couple of days to receive good traffic from Twitter, but sales stayed pretty low compared to the traffic numbers (upto 7000 a day; thank you Erin Andrews) about 3 - 5 sales/day. Amazon affiliate links only. Some days nothing.
People attracted to hot feed are usually disaster tourists and sensation seekers. High bump rate. Difficult to monetise.
And I regularly had to watch Google's hot feed and update the affiliate links, when possible. Too much work. Google de-indexed the site for 8 days, then put a fraction of the posts back in their index. But I had already cleared the database in those 8 days because I thought the domain was banned. And I received a C&D from Twitter.
They want me to handover the domain name.
But it was a good test to find out how easy it is to make money from Twitter.

I didn't do any social bookmarking etc, like you did. Only Twitter traffic.

The plugins I used :
HOTFEED WP plugin : Automatic affiliate links by keyword (Amazon only. I think he never released the others.) :
Twitter Post :
This one is better than aLink but costs pennies, and wasn't an option for just a test.
And WP2.7 and WP2.8 (upgraded in test period).

Of the more than 17,000 posts (EDIT: WHOOPS! make that 1700 posts), Google only restored about 100 :
Type this into Google's search box: site:twittertrail.com

And also you'll find that lots of other sites index twitter posts, and pick up your posts. Extra traffic.

I see 24 results, 22 of which are "Receipt Nr. does not match!"

G must be cleaning up.

The "Receipt Nr. does not match" message is a bug in the HOTFEED script.

And I don't know why, but twitter left the youngest (of 3) accounts with the domain twittertrail.com attached to it, untouched. You'll see it in the search results.

Go try it yourself, and see if it works.

EDIT: Traffic is not coming from twitter only, but other sites also pick up tweets, and repost/retweet at their own sites.
I just noticed that Google also cleaned up the results of the demo blogs of the writer of the hotfeed script : site:wptrends.com and siteromisia.com (blog.promisia.com his hotfeed demo is not even indexed by Google.).
He used to have thousands of blogposts indexed per WP install.
Here are his US-only traffic stats : And here for his other demo blog : Lots of traffic mate for so few indexed posts.
You only need one post about the topic that's on the #1 position in Google's hot trends, and Google will find you.

You'll notice a famous forum (BHW) in the Referral Analytics.

You won't find twittertrail.com at Compete, it's been up barely 3 weeks with this setup. Then I activated the maintenance mode plugin.

Looks like Google also de-indexed the demo site of the programmer of the Hotfeed WP plugin. And he also had a surge of traffic from the Erin Andrews Peephole movie news. Luckily my site was on VPS then, now it's back on the shared hosting graveyard. :
The funny thing is that they remove the dead links and then resurrect only part of the website.
I'm pretty confident that my domain was investigated because it contained the name Twitter.
With any protected name, Google investigates, bans if your using adsense, or turns your site into a leper if they can't punish you.
