Google Hitman Gets 4 Years in Jail

'Google hitman' who threatened customers with rape and murder so his eyewear website would appear higher on search engines sentenced to four years in jail

Vitaly Borker, 36, from New York, was also ordered to pay almost $100,000 in restitution and fines when he was was handed down his sentence yesterday.

Well for only assault and not actual assault and battery it seems pretty harsh to me.
Yeah sure the guy is a idiot and he should not be threatening people. But look at all
of the sexual assault cases where physical contact happened only getting 6 years...

Legal system is screwed up...

It is a joke. It is obviously not the same guy. But they have the same threatening attitude.

I appreciate you ruining the joke though, and making it much less funny, and much more awkward.
 
The US legal system is horrible. People who THREATEN stuff can get more than people who DO stuff - especially now with the "terroristic threat" angle. Seriously? Those laws give prosecutors carte blanche to pad their portfolio....

"See how awesome I am... I put this guy who threatened his ex-girlfriend while he was drunk away for 40 years...."

"Oh... that murderer who got 6 months.... well... that was a plea bargain... and um.... did I mention the guy I put away for 40 years who threatened his girlfriend?"

Buddy in life I learned to not joke where money is involved!

Sometimes a joke about money may backfire and cost someone else some more money,

That is something I am not into or want to contribute to by way of a joke or other message conduit

Humor is very much a part of my life - but I try if possible to direct my humor at a single source sans double entendre meaning!

Four years sounds a little drastic for just threatening some one on the phone. Panda and penguin would make any body loss it. I didn't read the article but I think they should cut this guy a little more slack.
 
the article doesn't say how this guy would have benefitted in google serps...can someone explain what he was trying to do w/ serps by threatening people?

I was reading this article tonight and thinking to myself " Well theres another Blackhatter banned from the forums..." would be mad if someone actually found him here.
 
donno why he got jail time, he was only thinking out of the box :D
 
I bet if he had given some of those sunglasses away, he'd have more business, repeat customers, longer comments and no jail-time.

classic. as for the 4-year sentence, that's a bit over the top. It was just an email...words, not even in person threatening. He's basically just a troll, is that a violation of the patriot act now? I mean it's not like he pulled a bernie madoff. Guy should have had a fine and that's it.
 
Wow what a crazy asshole. Some people really should have just been taken out back as a child and dealt with early on. I mean there's no way that THIS is the 1st time he's been an epic dick about something.
