So, I spent the past week busting my butt creating a website. By day 2 I had about 25 pages on it all with 1000 plus words of content on them all indexed by google. On day 3 or 4 I decided to "make for a good user experience" and organize all of it into tabs and accordions to make it clean, simple and very user friendly. By day 5, I had dropped from 25 pages indexed, down to 4 pages indexed. I knew my content was top notch, so I did some testing. I pulled the tabs off one of the pages and sent googlbot to re-crawl my entire site. The only page that got indexed in this round was the page I removed the tabs from. The next day I did the same thing, with the same result.

My conclusion, don't put tabs and accordions on your site if you want it indexed.

many websites use tabs and accordions with proper indexation by google. Are you sure there were no other changes on the page?

Not sure that's the caused of indexing. It could be something else.

Thanks for the sharing. It seems wiser to stay away from the tabs

Look at all the big sites, most have tabs so i doubt if it's the reason. I've never heard of that happening before. As others have said i could be something else

After removing tabs from every page of that website, every page was back to being indexed within 24 hours. I can pretty safely say that the tabs did have a negative impact.

"May be your website is subjected to google dance Mate.." Nope, there was no dancing, the pages were simply removed from google.
