GOOGLE has Totally Changed !!!

500 new modifications out: ?!

From these 500 modifications, I think G:cool3::cool3:gle now can easily recognize and knock down our classic backlinking methods..

I also saw somewhere something about a serious change with the algorithm and I don't really know if the rumors are right, but Google may now check f*cking 100's of measures to decide the relevance of a webpage.

What do you think guys? Let's discuss it and beat their asses again!

500 changes doesn't really surprise me considering they make tweaks every day. They are constantly working on improving their algo. It makes a lot of sense, they have to stay a few steps ahead of us!

This is nothing new...

Google has been making hundreds of modifications to their algorithm every year. As such I have "no comment" as this is old news. I already read the leaked manual. Nothing surprising in there really, just common sense.

I don't think it's a big deal yet. I'm not worried, because it will get figured out. This is just a glorified press release saying "Hey look, Google is doing its job. In fact, it's probably doing what it has been doing every year."

It's kind of doing what they've got to do to stay at the top of the game.
Google is being doing this for years,it's just that it's time again this year.

It is pretty sad that your livelihood is put in the hands of some guy sitting in a room overseas making $2 per hour. What if dude has a bad day? What if he hates certain types of websites. Now I know they have quality assurance teams that go through the decisions, but you never know.

Moral of the story...make sure you build high quality websites, which abide by Google's quality guidelines. Then hope and pray you don't get bent over and penalized because a mistake in their algo, or some pissed off worker.

You really think they haven't been using hundreds of "flags" for years ? It's old news, set off too many flags, you're flagged as spam, either by the algo or by someone sitting in a room being paid $2.00 per hour.

This is nothing new for anyone that has been in SEO for a little while, and if SEO is your primary source of traffic and income, you really need to make it a point to pay attention to Google and its changes.

Google has been making changes like this every year for a while now.

If you live by that, then you will be fine. I have autoblogs that survived the panda update.

We're placing too much trust in someone else's product. There are ways in which we can get traffic without Google. Make your website for the one that's going to buy your product -> the user.
A decade ago we thought that Mircrosoft was king, now look at it, everything it puts out has some major fault that we can't get over. Google is getting there and if we don't kick our addiction, then every update will destroy someone's income.

As an overseas guy, I find it way sadder to be in the hands of some Wall Street bastard making $200 per hour.

(Sorry if too biased but I cannot accept the role the word "overseas" plays in your thesis)

I wonder where can I apply to become quality rater.

Manual reviewers starting off make 7-12 EUR an hour depending on the country (6.75 in Russia, 10 in Italy). Those from other countries also don't rate your countries SERPs.

I hope at least they hire quality raters or Google age is done!

I think actual ecommerce sites are coming up a bit over blogs, though blogs have an obvious advantage in regards to keyword optimization IMO. As an example, I have a free hosted site that is pretty much bare but it is an ecommerce site and suddenly it got a ranking from google for a very tough KW that I gave up on 2 months ago. Granted its 50 something position but it was NOWHERE to be found 2 weeks ago. My New site which has very bad on page SEO is starting to pop up on google for certain low volume KW's right now. I am hoping that over time I can also rank for the tougher KW's.

My blogs on the other hand have slid a little for some of the side KW's that I was getting some page 1 love for. While my main KW phrase is still page 1, it is very low volume.

I am far from an expert mind you so take it all with a grain of salt. For the most part the G men make their money from retailers paying for ads with them and perhaps they are giving those types of sites a little more weight at this time.

**Oh I would like to add that for the "bare" site that now is showing some ranking results it appears that G is finding the backlinks a lot faster. As an example, over the last month (according to majestic SEO) I went from 200 BL's or so this time last month to about 1400 BL's all of a sudden and I have done NO backlinking to that site for at least 2 months.

CAN be depends on if you do it on your own or if you go through someone else. My current site has over 12,000 products and it was a pain in the @ss to try to load all the sku's and keep up with out of stock items so I went with them hosting the page which only gives me limited access to what I can do.

In addition it is hard to rank for 1 KW (keyword importance) when you have say 20 or 30 categories on a page and hundreds if not thousands of sku's.

Sure you can mess around with the html but you cannot target a phrase as well with a retail site.

Thats one of the big reasons many ecommerce site owners start blogs, so they can focus in on some money KW's get some ranking and redirect the reader back to the money site. Trust me, no one WANTS to really blog about the stuff they carry when they could be selling the stuff they carry.

I do ecommerce sites for 5-10 items max... why do you even want 12,000 items? You cannot possibly be warehousing them, and dropshipping is extremely expensive.

I don't think it makes much business sense to have any one rater that can do in a site. My guess is stuff has multiple passes.

By the way if you read the report that was found the other day there are 2 places where anyone can apply to become a rater. I went to the sites and it seemed like they were looking specifically for US based raters.

I was tempted to do it but if you google my name there is too much "SEO" related info out there with my name all over it so I doubt they would approve me. But maybe my brother?

I really hate it when they change it. But we have no choice but to deal with it.
