I did a search today on google.co.uk for "seo internal linking" and noticed that in the top 5 is a link to peoples Google+ profile where possible:

I'm wondering if this is giving people extra ranking sauce?

That's just the personal results search.. so it only effects the results of those connected to each other on Google+
