Is there a search command, for example forum:"keyword" or sitetype forum:"keyword", where one would search for only forums for the given keyword?

Insert a footprint for forum scripts, you can find many footprints by using the search function. Something like this will find you forums:

inurl:forum "keyword" or inurl:showthread.php "keyword"

Good thinking; I'll try that. Thanks for the answer. I tried using the Google 'Discussion' search, but it comes up with so many non forum sites.
