Lots of people have Facebook open 24/7. We should use facebook and twitter. Social sites is where the traffic is!

Wrong on both counts - but I won't bother repeating my post above.
I make a lot of cash on the net, less than 50% of my traffic comes from Google, and the percentage gets less by the year.
But that's not the point either
I'm sorta glad the IM world is full of self defeatists - makes the job of making my own money that much easier.

I think the biggest problem is that most people just target one keyword and don't build any new ORIGINAL content to their site. The days of thin affiliate sites are over. We now need to focus on building high authority sites with lots of good content. That way we can target multiple keywords and we won't get affected if a few of our keywords drop in rank because other keywords will be bringing in traffic. If you build high quality authority sites and rank with lots of different keywords you don't have to worry about updates screwing you over.

obviously not, my sites are gone even some of them have no more then 10 backlinks, and i haven't build any link for them for 1 year

ye google quality keep decreasing as they more focus on nasty seo

Dont forget, if everybody goes to bing, bing would get a monopol and they can do the same like google do... So this is a tricky thing...
I also lost 80% traffic and over 80% of my income but lets wait and see what the next days will bring... Maybe google just want to shock the people and force them to reduce their links now... I will wait 1-2 months...

What's ON YOUR SITE should count for where your site ranks at least as much as WHAT'S OFF YOUR SITE
Any twat can game links, negatively bomb competitors with links, even DMOZ is about starting "real relationships" but with the purpose of...getting links.
Great for guaging popularity...maybe..but they should represent no more than 50% of your sites SERPS score.
It seemed to be heading that way, but now Google have introduced the idea of "negative link bombing" - well if that isn't the most fucking stupid and short sighted measure I've ever heard.
Seeing the sort of clear ond obvious shit (50 word URL,s error pages, 404's, Apache server info) that is dominating many massively commercial keywords you've got to wonder what fecking drugs Google's boffins have been on.
Get your tin hat son - because the internet is going to get spammed and bad linked to death over the coming months with 10x more trash linking going on now than ever before as people bomb their competitors with porn and viagra links

I'm pretty sure that sites will get up again, because now the results are simply crazy and even google is not so stupid to hurt their search quality so much. Almost all good sites has some seo done, so this way all good sites would be nowhere to find and only bad sites will be up. I'm sure as soon as they realize this they will change it.

In most of the markets I have lost my rankings, but sit it out, it has only been 5 days and it's not the first time this has happened..
The last pandas I got hit and after about 10-14 days everything got scrambled again and I got my rankings back.
Let's wait to see what will happen (crappy as it might be)
