Yesterday I went ahead and bought some +1s from Microworkers for one of my site. It seems I drew to much attention on my site as a Google IP (bot or not? ) visited me last night and now that site is slammed at the bottom of the SERPS:super:. I know I'll come back but I swear I'm not touching + again .

P.S. I know others had success with + and I really didn't expect a slap.

That's a little strange. I outsource FB likes, +1s, etc all the time, but I have never had a problem.

Where did you get the outsourcers from and what instructions did you provide them?

lol men i was on page number 1 ranked as second, i bought 2 days ago google +1 and you know what happened? I'm on the third page now NEVER gonna touch it again

Then I am assuming that you got a bunch of +1s in a short amount of time all at once.

Spacing them out is the safest approach.

How many did you get?

You're right dude. +1 is bad juju. Look, you just got banned - bet it was those fucking plus 1s. I just hope i don't get run over by a truck or something tomorrow...

@davids - 30

Seems like a great way to hit your competition ... I cannot believe they hit you for only 30?

That didnt happen to me. but my domain is stuck.. got 82 likes 60 that are fake off fiverr

Just 30? I think it may be a little early to jump the gun and completely blame +1 for a number of reasons:

1. There are a lot of others that outsource +1 and FB likes etc on a much higher scale that have not experienced a problem.

2. Google is using more and more social factors to rank sites.

3. Google is not dumb enough to make it that easy to bomb your competition.

Did you check to make sure the account status of the people that gave you +1s were good? Google can see the accounts that were used for giving you the +1s, but I am not sure if this would actually have a negative effect.

Are you doing any other link building to your site(s) that moved in the SERPs?

i'd steer clear of abusing +

this is probably the third thing I've read today on this subject. google is just going nuts with penalizing people trying to abuse their new site.

stick with twitter and fb for now.

Google + is to blame I'm telling you. The site that got slapped was a six months old page one money maker with hundreds of (fairly) good quality links. Since I've launched it, the site has been a success and has been stuck on page one for a bit over two months.

There is no doubt in my mind that the +1 got it slapped. I know that others had success using +1. This is why the slap came as a bit of a shock. After checking some IPs in cpanel I noticed that one of the last visits before the slap was from google HQ...makes you wonder.:D

Doesnt make sense. I can find somebody's site and slam them with +1's and essentially fuck it up?

Well, it's a bit like xrumer blasts... you hope to screw them over but you might actually end up helping them, so I wouldn't take the risk.

Many experiments have shown that natural +1s greatly improve positions in SERPS but artificial ones greatly decrease ranking.
