What is the major difference with the new "Google Enhanced" that will be required in July? (If you run Adwords)

So far with my campaigns, I don't see much difference besides it asking if I plan to advertise on mobile or desktop? I looked around a bit and I see that its supposed to utilize place, time, and device more effectively.

What have you guys noticed?

It's like the worst thing that they came up with. It's just their new way to get more money from you without really asking you. The major updates aim towards mobile devices. That is, you wont be able to choose whether your ads should show at mobile devices, your ads would be forced to show.

They will arbitrarily force your campaigns to show on mobile.

A. Tablets ARE separate devices, with different ROI
B. Mobile could have the worst possible ROI for you, and it's activated by default.

Basically they took away some of the options to maximize their revenue, while hitting most of the advertisers right in the wallet and ROI. I mean, bottom line, you can have a campaign turn unprofitable overnight.

You can turn off mobile by setting its bid adjustment to -100%

Campaign Settings -> Devices Tab -> Set Mobile Bid Adj. to "Decrease by 100%"

Multi-device marketing. Potential customers look for your business on computers, tablets and smartphones and move seamlessly across devices.

Like everyone said - lack of device targeting is ridiculous.

By the way - Google is still asking for suggestions on Enhanced campaigns - services.google.com/fb/forms/ecfeedback/

Which makes me think they don't mean to stick by it if there's a backlash and reluctance to switch to it.

Thanks for clearing this up for me! (backtracks and thankify everyone!)
