Well i was not making a money site this time, just something for fun, i got a domain:
how-to-be-a-***.com
and placed a single page howto article there. Its all original content, a lot of pictures etc, original design. I linked to it from my other sites with good rankings (all whitehat) and in a few days i was #80 under 'how to be a ***'.
Now i drpped. im nowhere in sight for that keyword. What could of happened?
Btw the keyword is not competitive at all

It might be google dance so wait for few days. Keep on building backlinks and try to add more original content also to it.
Hope that will work for you.

Dancing away my friend! You were new and wow and know you just another aged site. But have no fear keep on building backlinks and create an article strategy.

When you added original content, google liked it and pushed you up a bit.but if it becomes inactive for awhile, it will go down, so Take some seo advice from the forum.theres the one i really like, its about opening 10 web 2.0's, linking them to main site, opening 60 web2.0's linking them to the 10, then pinging and indexing all the web2.o links.your site will come out of the dance radically

You said you linked to it from your other sites. Are your other sites on the same server?

Google dance. I have keywords that are doing this same thing. You just need more links that's all though.

That may be the problem. Especially if you linked to it on your home page and especially if your other sites weren't on the same topic and especially if it was on the same server and ESPECIALLY if it was at least 2 of the 3.

Google is really cracking down on things it thinks may be a paid link or link scheme and all 3 of those things qualifies.

I second that.. I readed another thread the other day with a guy running adsense on his sites. He linked them togehter and all his sites dropped in serps. Not a wise move...

Nothing to worry about.. assuming your site is new long as site:yoursite.tld works, you're in like flin!

Ranking in the serps isn't like walking up a steep hill, sometimes you will take 20 steps back after a step forward. Throw on some more content. Get different links. Get some social juice flowin and you will be back up there, even higher, in no time.

Position #80 is volatile meaning it's easy to bounce in and out of the top 100. I wouldn't worry much about your rankings until your in the top 30.

Probably some asshat attacked your site with 100k spam links. One of my sites had that happen. After couple of months those links were gone.

Definitely google dance. No one would attack a site that's ranked 80 something.

It's probably just Google dance. See to it that your content is unique though.
