I'm facing this issue with one of my sites where no matter how I try, Google simply won't display the updated descriptions and images in search results for the pages. I've updated a few of them in January/February this year and the rest of them in April. Every single other search engine (and social media) I've tested show the updated descriptions and images for many months now. I've tried searching it without cache, from 10+ other devices, proxies, etc., it's always the old content that gets displayed.
When I inspect the URL's through Search Console and view the crawled pages, they show the updated descriptions and image URL's in the HTML code. The old images don't even exist on the hosting anymore, Google must be serving them from a 6 months old cache, even though the pages are getting crawled by them at least once a week (though Google still haven't switched to the smartphone Googlebot crawler yet on this site). There aren't any issues in Search Console and the site is completely white hat. New pages on the site display the correct descriptions and images right away - obviously. I don't want to recreate the pages under different URL's as they rank #1 for several big keywords which I wouldn't want to lose.
Things I've tried:
Manually requesting a reindexing through Search Console.
Deleting/changing the descriptions and images, requesting the reindexing, then changing them back and requesting a reindexing again a day later.
Deleting the pages and recreating them, then reindexing.
I'm completely out of ideas as I've never seen this happen, it usually takes 10 minutes till I see the updates in the search results, even without clearing the cache. Is anyone else experiencing this or had an issue like this before?
