There is an update on Google now, I think you should wait a bit. Do not do too much work on your site for a short period of time

When this happens, can you just backup the site and start on a new domain or do you lose the content someway?

You can dispute the DMCA claim....it will buy you few weeks or months at best untill the owner will sends Google all the documents needed....but after this step if the owner of those materials gets a favourable decision from G your site will be forever gone from Search.

It's simple...I usually do nothing, I receive around 5 DMCA emails per day, good thing I anonymized all my accounts for hosting, I use Proton for email along with Cloudflare, when google deindex my urls, another URL would usually replace that

hi ı cant find where ı should send to private message but are you making only 301 redirects to new tlc or subdomain ?
