Google Disavow Tool Officially Released

For people who face genuine penalty due to a few links, this is good news. But this is still no solution to negative seo... Even a simple 10,000 link Scrapebox blast would rape a site! How the hell can webmasters diavow such a huge number of links individually! :|

This is what im facing. Hopefully my one saving grace is that of the 20k odd links blasted at my site they are only from about 700 domains. Hopefully just diavowing the 700 domains that will be enough.

Fingers crossed. I will keep you all updated.

I'm amazed nobody has the braincells to see what this means, and how this is possibly the biggest blow to blackhat seo ever.

It's obvious google has no idea what spam is, so now they can use idiot minions to point it out for them and devalue those link targets, anyone using this tool needs to feel his forehead...

Data collected from this tool will be used to confirm who link spammers are and to analyze trends.

I don't see this as a blow to blackhat SEO. I see this as a blow to the productivity of all webmasters. I personally don't want to cherry pick backlinks and submit them to Google to disavow. Multiplied by the number of webmasters that will use this tool, just imagine how many man hours will be taken away from creating all that great content that Matt Cutts talks about?

This is more BS smoke and mirrors. So Google creates a tool and gets some buzz in the webmaster community. Meanwhile, more paid listings are pushing organic listings beneath the fold. Google knows how to end webspam, and they are doing it by driving organic listing off the first page of the SERPS.

IMO this is a get-out-of-jail-free card for blackhatters. Spam your ass off and, if caught, just go "I didn't do it" and disavow the links.

This is bullshit people. Let me ask you, when was the last time Google tried to help anyone besides themselves?

may be in future google close all of his bulshit updates and dont play with any algo change..that case it would be good for other people until it keep going for updates and bring stupid updates i dont think it will be ever helpful for anyone...LOL

lol $97 for 400 emails sent out. LinkDelete must be raking it in!

The biggest takeaways of this announcement I found s this:

1. Google will take time processing your link removal file

They won't immediately discount links, and even then they are only going to apply the NoFollow attribute. This won't be an immediate solution and will take time, up to two weeks to see some type of movement in the rankings if you even see anything at all.

2. Google wants you to remove your links first and foremost

This I found very shocking, Google wants you to remove your links to begin with and then use the disavow tool as a backup to those that cannot be removed. I have used linkdelete.com for removing links, I would have though the disavow tool would have killed their business overnight. Seems like Google's giving them some type of credit and telling people to use their serviecs before turning to the disavow tool. I am wondering if the disavow tool is nothing more than smoke and mirrors and doesn't actually do anything at all?

Yes,

please give Google all your backlinks - shifting the algorithm while making a blacklist of links has never been easier. Are you really that naive & ignorant? Jeez..

That already happened when people started getting unnatural link notices in webmaster tools. That boat already sailed and screwed a lot of us.

Apparently you haven't had good money making sites slapped out of existence because of unnatural links. I've had several and have tried to remove the bad links and get reconsiderations for months. They keep coming back and telling me that the site still has links to it that are unnatural and they won't remove the penalty without removing those links.

Now I'm not going to sift through and try to get thousands of links deleted. I just don't have the time for that and I'm not going to pay for it either. I know that getting them removed can get the penalty removed because I've talked to people who have done it.

So for me I am going to go through what webmaster tools shows as domains linking to my site and try to find the bad ones and submit it to Google in hopes that I can get some of those penalties lifted from the sites.

Why would I not? They've been penalized for several months and Google has already told me numerous times after several reconsiderations that I haven't shown enough progress in getting the bad links removed. If it saves me time and allows me to recoup the sites than it's a win for me.

I'm happy about the tool.

I've just submitted a txt file filled with sites i comment spammed. Some of these blogs have over 150 links with exact match anchors and thousands of outbound links pointing to my site. Up until now i've not been able to clean them from my profile, at least now i have a chance. I'm already in a penalty and on the recovery, this might just pull me out completely.

I'll keep an eye on rankings.

It will be interesting to see what effect disavowing does in the next few months...

OMG, Now be prepared, because your Website is gonna dance like Michael Jackson after will start submitting their text files...

If this tool actually worked, it would be way to easy to manipulate search results. If your site was hit by a penguin update, do you think removing links with this tool will restore your premium rankings?

Yeah.

We all know how reconsideration requests works too right? Anyway even if this tools works it will take months and G will build link profiles.

The problem is that there are a handful of douches that DID use Neg SEO on sites that tried to stay clean, because of this any reporting that drops values for the rest of BHW is all the fault of the guys doing BH SEO on other peoples sites instead of their own...

Those are the guys that you should be looking at.

Supply and demand and free competition are concepts totally foreign to you, I take it?

No it is not at all and actually the point of my post. If I have a site and build links and market a certain way, let me do it. I am happy to accept the rewards or failures of my own work.

But when some idiot, who cannot beat you on a level playing field, spams you with 10k spammy blog comments that takes away that playing field. It is similar to me as someone coming by my brick and mortar biz and setting fire to it in order to corner the market. I dont care how you do your SEO just dont direct it at me.

Because of these methods webmasters WILL report these links and it hurts anyone using BH tactics because these properties will be exposed. Building an authority site takes time or money or both so those initial months every new site is vulnerable and by allowing these links to affect the sites Google opened the door. SOME unethical black hatters walked through that door which forces real companies to react in such a way that it may eventually make BH seo that much harder.

I dont consider attacking my property (site) free market at all.

I am scared to press that 'disavow links' button. I got no clue what it will do or where it will take me.
