Hello,

I've been thinking about using Google disavow tool for anchor text dilution, as my website has too many inbund links with exact match anchors. Actually, I intend to disavow exact match anchors from low authority domains and to keep only a few from strong domains.

Is this tactic effective for anchor text dilution? Does disavowing domains/links have any effect on the anchor text diversity?

Thank you very much

In my experience the disavow tool doesn't do much, I've tried on hundreds of domains I own with varying success. My biggest wins for link pruning is via link removal only. That way you can be certain that it works and Google is no longer counting the links.

THAT is what I call a case study.

BTW, can you say perhaps the time frame if any # changed after using disavow?

I used disavow toll long back when many of my domain got penalty. I used it on 3 domains and none of them recovered from penalty. I tracked them for 4-5 months and then I did not renew. So I have my own share of doubt, if disavow really helps. Or might be, I should have waited for little longer

In couple of cases, I sent email to website owner and they remove it in most of the cases. Once it gets removed, you just need to ping that URL once again and that works. But again, it depends on how many of them are there. If it is in high 3 or 4 digit links from automated tools, then you do not have any option except to disavow

So you sell SEO services but cannot tell the difference between anecdotal evidence and a case study?

You must have straight retards as clients then, because a case study is backed by sources of data and what @TheLinkGuy just posted is called anecdotal evidence.

thx for comment.

btw - I feel the haters coming.
strange correlation as always.. the more dislikes I get, the higher the outside cash flow.
must be anecdotal evidence here too.

You are retarded because correlation does not imply causation, while retardation does imply pervasive developmental delays.
