google deindexing baklinks

Few weeks ago, i created a link wheel for my site. It had about 12-13 spokes(not sure ) . Then one day i saw that google indexed about 7 of them and i was doing well on the serps. But today when i checked my site, i see only 3 of them, and the site has gone from page 2 to page 5.

All of the articles are still on the article sites and blogs, but google is ignoring them. Why does this happen and how to get rid of this in future.

Well without knowing any of the details my guess would be that your footprint was too big.

Google figured out that you where the author of the content on the link wheels and punished you for attempting to manipulate search engine results.

It may not be that you got punished directly, but if you used a basic link wheel and it got detected then the whole wheel will have lost most if not all of its juice, as you yourself said portions where definately deindexed. Because you had backlinks that suddenly disappeared you get punished for that anyway, as if it was from a trusted source that suddenly didnt trust you any more or chose to trust someone else more than google would obviously want to reflect that in its rankings.

If you are going to use black hat techniques you have to be prepared to see some bouncing around in your positions while you grapple to reach domination of your niche, and if you really want to make the most of the techniques you have to be stealthy like a cyber ninja.

Were you using spun articles in the 40-60% uniqueness range? Google is getting very good at detecting spun articles using word counts and paragraph and sentence analysis. I've noticed a lot of sites I've created with only spun articles are getting passed over by google lately. You gotta do better

yeah i was using spun articles, but i do have another link wheel where i used spun articles and it's doing just fine, bring in traffic right now. But what about those people who do not create linkwheels but simply post the same article to 100's of article sites ?

I have seen a lot of people doing this and getting about 30-40 % backlinks. So for example you write an article and post it to 20 sites, you still get about 6 links random article sites.

Basically if you connect the spokes of your link wheel then it makes it fairly obvious to google that the content is some how connected, after all that is what you want them to think.

If you do it in a blatant straight line around your wheel, especially one after the other while making them, and from one IP, and quickly (like in one day) then google will be like hmmm whats up with this.

So you need to take every step neccessary (what that means is up to you different people have different levels of paranoia / accessability to stuff) to ensure that the wheel looks like a 100% natural creation and not an artifical one. If you want them to work properly, otherwise they wont work well.

When you submit content to an article site, that content is designed to go out as duplicate content. But here is the thing about duplicate content, google dont care about it, as long as it is on a lot of different sources(IPs basically) then the content is still relevant (maybe moreso if so many people think so!). So if 1k autoblogs pick up your article from some free plugin from an article site / directory and as part of that your link gets posted by all those unique ips related to the keyword. Then you will get some link juice from which ever of those manage to get indexed and depending on the position they hold in the niche or whatever you may get some really nice juice.

Personally I perceive the reason you spin high (very high and well) for your personal small link wheels should be because the more unique each piece of content is the more google will like it on its own merit so the more juice it generates, that in conjunction with being linked to similar pieces is like WOW, and of course you dont want google to think they came from the same author (all pointless if your not masking your ip) but if at any point Google smells something fishy they will investigate the whole ring and then you could be in real trouble as all the work you put in could just be totally wasted.

You want a good piece of spyntax for when you submit to article directories because then one article (if it passes) can potentially keep getting into each major directory every week and produce untold amounts of back links for you.

As I know, the big G is probably removing those that build a complete wheel. So the idea is not to close the loop/wheel and also mix them around in a way that it is not necessary to be a wheel, it could be something else pointing to one of the other properties that you build but not to your main site. More like pointing at random directions so it doesn't look like a wheel, but each direction is pointing to one of your properties and eventually they link back to your main site.
