So made the site on expired domain about 15 days ago and wrote 30 articles and they got indexed in google, some of them started ranking top 30-40 for several keywords. Just today about 20 out of those 30 pages are not in google index. All pages had unique quality content..

Has anybody else faced such an issue?

No, never heard or experienced such. Did you check the link profile of the expired domain? Was it penalized in the past (not sure if you would know but still Way back machine will give a lot of hint)?

It's pretty normal for new sites. And Google has been acting like a retard lately. Pages going in and out of index, terribly long indexing times, GSC being barely updated.

One of my post on a fresh 4 months old domain has not been indexed for 2 weeks now..for no reason.
Google is wierd.

Check your Yoast plugin if you have it installed. There was an issue with the recent updates of this plugin that caused page deindexation.

yoast latest version made pages non index they have released steps how to index again check their posts, and there’s no issue in 13.5 it’s safe issue started in 14 and above versions

This is scary considering Yoast is being used in all my sites and most of the site owners I know :O Good that I learnt this here because I was going to update it.

so what are the chances that my rankings will return after i try to get them indexed again?

This is very common for new sites. Sometimes Google penalizes pages, that is, removes them due to spam or unnatural backlinks.

Got it, that is the only reason my pages are deindexed, i have installed the 13.5 version of plugin now which will hopefully fix the issue now and pages will get reindexed... However i am not sure if pages will rank now.

Google doesn't crawl all the pages on the web, and we don't index all the pages we crawl. It's perfectly normal for not all the pages on a site to be indexed.Use Fetch As Google.

Maybe your domain was penalized already. Not sure what else could happen.
