SOPA + PIPA by google...welcome
Royalties must be paid... the end of profiting from pirated content is near.
Google knows it..
so they make this purchase to pay the royalties...
well... this company helps them calculate and pay the right people.
Nah if you read it carefully nothing to do with SOPA or PIPA, simply a smart play and a strong technology purchase by Google.
They can actually use this to get music on their site rather than taken down. By legitimizing the process youtube could become the hulu of music
It was sarcastic...ofc they will put the fucking vevo and that BS so its a kind of SOPA AND PIPA...
I guess dailymotion and vimeo will get more traffic
It has nothing to do with SOPA or PIPA...
Google just knows that eventually things will change.
and like always.. they have to be on top of the game.
They are smart.... and adapt well.
Youtube (Google) has already paid over $100 million in royalties to its VEVO partners, it's great news that they start paying to a wider range of artists.
A move like this protects them from the likes of SOPA/PIPA.
They already have a massive market share of the music industry.
Now they can expand the music industry themselves legally. Game changer.
I think this is a great move on Google's part. Hopefully it will help keep the free access to music on YT rather than all the DMCA take downs.
