Google dance vs Sandbox

Is there a difference between the 2? If so how do you know which you are experiencing? I built a ton of backlinks for a new site with 1 keyword just to get an idea of where the proverbial "line" is. It was ranked 70 last night & today it is not even in the top 100.

That being said it ranks #8 on bing. Based on what I have read it looks like I should continue building links.

Any thoughts?

google dance it's when your website goes up and down in a matter of days.

google sandbox it's when your website disappears basically from google. Like going from 20 to 450.

sandbox isnt when your site goes from 20 to 450 its when it doesnt apper to anywhere

Sounds like the sandbox then. That was the first time I ever checked the rank of it. What's interesting is the site is #1 on google for a different keyword.

Is it possible to be in the sandbox for 1 keyword & not the other?

In my opinion, I think Google dance and the sandbox is the same thing. Their are some large dances, that take alot longer and go further down in the rankings, and then their are shorter ones.

Yes .. it's possible to rank for another kws ..

Try to diversify backlinks, add quality backlinks (try different anchors) and also add good content to your site.

No it's not the same .. with the dance you can disappear but you'll show in the next few days and with sandbox you'll not see your site anywhere with months

Thanks. This was done with mostly spammy back links from no hands seo. I will be adding some fresh content & building links with linkwheel bandit & senuke next week.

Must have been the dance because I fell to 184 and now I am at 23. Weird how the dance works. I wonder what is the point of why they do that.

That being said I did make changes on my side but those changes (article submissions, on page seo, other types of backlinks, have not been indexed yet)

Google dance is just a shor term. Every website can experience Google Dance. The sandbox usually for newer website, thought both effect are the same.

This doesnt sound right. The dance is about being shifted down before you suddenly pop up. It is not a penalty. The sandbox I thought was a penalty and when you come out you do not come out higher then before. For the record this site is less then 3 months old and I have built 1000s of backlinks to it. Whoops

Sandbox is a myth

I dnt know exactly but i guess my site is sandbox for the main keyword and it is no where in search engine whereas my site is ranking for other two keywords.

I disagree. There is a dif between dance & deindex. In the middle lies the sandbox ie: ur punished but it's not game over.
