Hey Black Hatterz.

Can someone please help me?
My site was doin fine ...I was using senukex to do some deep backlinking to my site which has about 12,000 pages on it.

for a few months it was doin ok.

I dunno if i made a stupid mistake or not but I went into my google webmasters account on the 22/07/11 and changed the site location from UK to US as majority of my traffic was coming from US.

Then I checked my traffic yesterday like i do everyday and BAM!! traffic dried up, pages that were ranking no longer ranked....no money coming in....uh oh :(

So, my fellow experienced pros, what should i do now? keep backlinking? change it back to UK?

Oh I didn't just use SENUKE either , I have used some bookmarking guy from BHW and also LInk push from BHW.

Incidentally The first Linkpush was just the other day and was focussed on the main domain hmmmmm. I wonder would that have made the jump down in ranking occur.

oh well.

if any 1 can pitch in wit sum advice that would be great man coz right now im really fretting.

thnks.

Damn.. Down!

IMO you should change it back to UK.

and wait for a week or two. thats it.

thanks guys,

@seo - yea i know :(

@SahL - yea? have you had experience of this? I mean i dunno if i should just wait week or two and see if it comes thru other side or just change it back now?

I bet the linkpush caused it, I've seen a couple of penalized reports here after using a linkpush.. It would be extremely weird if that location change penalized you like that.

Best plan of attack is to change it back to the Uk and wait a week, this way you are back to where you were before th linkpushe etc, does seem very strange but go through a process of elimination, if it is the backlinking things will return it may be a huge Google dance, what is your on page seo like? (original, automated etc.. ?)

Dude that is heavy. Are you still indexed even ?

Ok, your the second person to recommend changing back to UK so think i will have to go for that. as for on page SEo its a wordpress TV site - pretty much automated. Got all the usual plugins doing on page factors for me.

Thanks for the input tho man.

yeah it's still indexed.

Well i searched site:mysite.com and all the pages showed up. theres about 12,000 of them.

Is that how you see if its still indexed?

Or is there another better method?

No thats good man. Just shocking for you to lose all rank on all pages but still be indexed. I mean you went from multiple k to literally nothing. That is harsh as hell.

So you reckon the fact its still indexed might be promising then?
Like it might come back eventually?

Now im thinking it mustve been something to do with the switch from UK - US !!

Gotta be. no?

Revert back the changes that is the best thing to do at the moment.

Yes i have a US Geo targetted site which was doing good in US and India.

Its started getting Alot of visitors from India. So i decided to change Geo target to India thinking itl do much better.

and BOOM! Sites goes down to the 2-3 rd pages, some even far.

I changed it back to US, after a month it was back to normal,Good.

Actually it takes time for Google to analyse and rank it on another location.

If you leave it on US, your site might rank well after sometime.

But i would not advise you to take the risk..

Its real hard to say straight away, if its still indexed that is a good sign, how long has this site been running?

It must be.

Keep your link velocity up, change your webmaster settings back and try not to panic for a few more weeks.

Let us know what happens.
