Recently I am making links on my PBN (private one), about 2 per day. Using different anchors with keywords included.
Since more than one week my one of my keywords dropped (pic included) and it seems it won't come back.

So I decided to stop making any kind backlink to this website, just to look if it is a Google Dance or not. I am just wondering if this drop is caused by the Google Dance or an over-optimization (cuz I might used the keyword as anchor too much).

So as I stopped the link-building process, I might see the full results in about 10-14 days.
But what if the cause is really the over-optimization? Should I change the anchors of the existing backlinks then?

thank you

It could be the dance or it could be over-optimization, only time will tell.

Give it a few more days.

Mmmh don't stop building links though! 2/day isn't much by a long shot and if you stop 'getting' links after a drop - that screams linkbuilding to the algorithm.

Keep on trucking like nothing happened. That's how Google's machine learning is judging you. Not so much by what you do, but by how you react to what it does to you. It's way harder for an AI to know if incoming links are natural or not. But if you break habits after it threw a probing wrench in your linkbuilding party, that's a dead giveaway!

Please dilute the anchor text with generic and naked URL.
You ll het some positive result.

This aswell, I missed that bit in the OP. If an index update occurs and you're anchors are off, you can see it negatively impact your rankings aswell.

Looks like over optimization to me but I would give it a few more days just to be sure.

I'd say this is Google Dance because I've personally experienced it after building PBN links. Also, take a look on your link profile and make sure your exact match anchor has the LOWEST percentage of all. Diversify, diversify, diversify. Do blog commenting, build Web 2.0s, guest blogging - DIVERSIFY.

Raise the percentages of Brand, Naked, Generic etc.

Did you create profile links?

It's not dance, actually what I can see is you building just PBN's. You should diversify your Links strategy and build some other Authority Links along with PBN's.

lower your kw density if you used exact match anchors or related money kws

By the looks of it (so far) it does look like over optimization. I'd give it a few more days to justify tho.

The good thing tho, is that you created links through your PBN, you basically have full control over your link profile.

It might be possible of Google Dance because you are still getting click on your website and page

Its happens all the time when your links have indexed b google.I faced same situation before .GO social with drip fed,it would stable for rangking in 2 weeks .

Unrelated question: Is there a "google dance" so to speak with an adwords campaign as well? I feel like it takes time to establish a quality score but every time you make a bid adjustment or pause a campaign it takes awhile to get going again.

Why only PBN links, make other links too for brand and naked URLs. Dont use same anchor text more than once, use partial match,LSI or long tail anchor.

Okay thanks for the replies guys.
The keyword density for this keyword is very low already. I guess between 0.4-0.6%.
I will dilute the pbn links with generic and url anchors.

Also ordering social signals, building some social bookmarks and web 2.0s.

I don't think the kw density affect your ranking, I'm personally using KW density of 3 - 5% (Im using 1500+ words/article).
The problem is over optimization for your Targeting KW, Diversify your anchor text generic, brand, Naked URL, Domain.
This will make the anchor profile natural. Try this and get positive result! Cheers!!!

I'm having the same problem (started like 2 days ago). going to try to dilute the KW density as well.
