Google dance? or just bad luck

So my SERP went up to 16 and has now dropped to page 8. Is this the Google dance? If it is, does anyone know what I might expect to happen now?

I was getting excited. I thought I might make some money for once if I got onto page one. (Page one not #1)

Anyway, anyone want to hazard a guess as to what comes next.

my site jumped from nothing to spot 4 for a week, then dropped to 80. One week later it came back to #4 so don't be worried, just keep working and you might come back stronger
